WASHINGTON TWP., New Jersey (WPVI) - Students and staff at Washington Township High School returned to campus Monday for the first day of a hybrid learning plan following a string of COVID-19 cases. The WTHS Senior Prom will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, from 7-10 p.m., with a rain date for the Saturday, May 8 th.Students and staff at Washington Township High School were at school for the first day of a hybrid learning plan on Monday following a string of COVID-19 cases. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to Saturday, May 1 st. The WTHS Junior Prom will take place on Friday, April 30, 2021, from 7-10 p.m. Of course, we will be in compliance with State regulations, socially distanced and wearing masks, but we will still do our best to make it a special night.” “We will be especially pleased to host the prom for our senior class. “Proms are always among the most memorable of all high school events, and we felt so badly that COVID forced us to cancel both events last spring,” WTHS longtime class advisor Carol Costello. Though the events will not be hosted in large hotels as the past, the committee hopes to organize a memorable event that will include catered food, access to luxury bathrooms, professional music and lighting. Members of the Washington Township High School prom committee are going to great lengths to ensure that proms for both the 2020-21 junior and senior classes will be staged safely on the school’s Tom Brown Field - outside and socially distanced as required as part of pandemic protocols.
